BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10030613 · May 2009

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Program control units (dme-dmtl diagnosis). An incorrect tank leakage diagnosis may occur due to a software error. The service engine soon (MIL) lamp may be illuminated with the dmtl leakage fault stored, even though there is no fuel system leak. DME software dmtl diagnostic error. Model E70 (X5).
