SIB 11 12 12: Engine service information
Engine service information on N20 engines (2009–2014); BMW shared service information.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10149427 · Feb 2013 · also written SI B11 12 12, B111212
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
N20 Engine: Engine Oil Filter Application. Vehicles produced prior to 6/2012 will be equipped with a black plastic oil filter housing (1). In this case, engine oil filter kit P/N 11 42 7 634 291 should be used.
