SIB 12 18 10: Check engine light software update

Check engine light software update on BMW E60/E61/E90/E92 and other models (2008–2011); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10037052 · Aug 2010 · also written SI B12 18 10, B121810

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

BMW: There is a software error that is causing the service engine soon light to illuminate without a fault code.
