SIB 12 21 17: Engine rough running

Engine rough running on BMW F39/F48 models (2016–2020); BMW gives an adjustment procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10176362 · May 2020 · also written SI B12 21 17, B122117

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

ROUGH RUNNING IMMEDIATELY AFTER A COLD START: Immediately after a cold start the engine may run roughly during the catalyst heating period.
