SIB 12 30 17: Air conditioning fault codes
Air conditioning fault codes on BMW G11/G12/G30/G31 models (2016–2017); BMW released a software update.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10136716 · Dec 2017 · also written SI B12 30 17, B123017
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
SERVICE ACTION: PROGRAM CONTROL UNITS (EME): Due to the EME software error, OBD diagnostics may not detect emission relevant fault codes stored in the IHKA (heating & A/C) control module
