SIB 12 40 14: Check engine light

Check engine light on N55 engines (2013–2016); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10147604 · Jan 2015 · also written SI B12 40 14, B124014

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The Service Engine Soon light (MIL) comes on while driving at moderate to highway speeds in ECO PRO with the ""Coasting"" feature selection active.
