SIB 16 08 12: EVAP system leak

EVAP system leak on BMW F10 models (2011–2013); the fix is replacing the affected part.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10150322 · Oct 2012 · also written SI B16 08 12, B160812

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Replace Pressure Switch for Tank Leakage Diagnosis Module (NVLD). Contamination of the poppet valve inside the pressure switch for the tank leakage diagnosis module (NVLD = Natural Vacuum Leak Detection) can lead to the improper detection of an evaporative system leak.
