SIB 18 03 18: Catalytic converter inspection

Catalytic converter inspection on S63 engines (2018); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10138385 · Apr 2018 · also written SI B18 03 18, B180318

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

SERVICE ACTION: CHECK THE EXHAUST CLAMPS AT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS (F90): The screw clamps that secure the upper and lower catalytic converters (1) may loosen over time.
