SIB 27 01 07: Transfer case (4-wheel drive) fault codes

Transfer case (4-wheel drive) fault codes on BMW E60/E61/E70/E71 and other models (2008–2011); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10037061 · Jun 2010 · also written SI B27 01 07, B270107

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

A fault for oil wear is stored in the memory, but it does not illuminate the warning lamp.
