SIB 33 02 13: Axle noise

Axle noise on BMW E84 models (2013–2014); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10150259 · Oct 2013 · also written SI B33 02 13, B330213

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Check Rear Shocks. Noise is heard from the rear axle area over rough road surfaces. These noises can become louder over time.

Before you pay, check the VIN for recalls. Some failures are covered by a safety recall or a BMW warranty extension.
