SIB 41 01 11: Engine service information

Engine service information on BMW E70/E71 models (2011–2012); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10042724 · Sep 2011 · also written SI B41 01 11, B410111

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

On certain vehicles, under the engine hood, an incorrect emission label (2011) has been installed instead of the 2012 emission label.
