SIB 51 18 20: Tailgate does not open completely
Tailgate does not open completely on BMW G06 models (2020); BMW released a software update.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10177626 · Jun 2020 · also written SI B51 18 20, B511820
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
TAILGATE DOES NOT OPEN COMPLETELY: When opened either from the remote key, activation button on the driver's door panel, or using foot motion via Comfort Access; the tailgate will not open completely.
