SIB 51 25 14: Wiring harness leak

Wiring harness leak on S55 engines (2015); the fix is replacing the affected part.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10152310 · Apr 2015 · also written SI B51 25 14, B512514

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Replace Engine Compartment Sound Insulation. The sound insulation in the engine compartment does not seal properly. Manufacturing tolerances and a defect in workmanship may cause the sound insulation to leak water into the DME wiring connector.
