SIB 51 29 11: Power window failure

Power window failure on BMW F25 models (2011); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10042685 · Sep 2011 · also written SI B51 29 11, B512911

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Due to electrochemical reactions, on some vehicles, the heating conductors and foil connectors, the rear window defroster may fail to operate properly.
