SIB 52 20 23: Seat rattle

Seat rattle on BMW G05/G07 models (2024); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10248087 · Dec 2023 · also written SI B52 20 23, B522023

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

When the center armrest of the second seat row is lowered but the center section of the seat is in its uprightposition, a rattle noise may be heard when the vehicle goes over a cobblestone/rough road. The noise can be heard from the pull tab marked with blue tape in the picture.
