SIB 61 17 08: Software failure
Software failure on BMW E83 models (2007–2008); BMW released a software update.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10029009 · Nov 2008 · also written SI B61 17 08, B611708
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
Software error may result in the continuous activation of the servomotors in the locks, resulting in individual lock actuator failure or fuel filler lock failure.
