What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

FC 80402E Stored After Replacement of Rear Electronics Module. After replacement of the Rear Electronics Module (REM), fault code "0x80482E - Incorrect HW variant" is stored and cannot be cleared. This fault has no effect on the vehicle functions and is not noticed by the customer.
