SIB 61 24 24: iDrive service information

IDrive service information on BMW G60/G70/I20 models (2024); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 11008996 · Oct 2024 · also written SI B61 24 24, B612424

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Small debris may accumulate inside the volume control thumbwheel of the iDrive Controller. Existing gaps between the glass application and the light guide could allow external debris to enter inside the volume thumbwheel under normal usage.
