SIB 61 25 14: Fuel tank leak check inspection

Fuel tank leak check inspection on S55 engines (2015); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10148038 · Sep 2014 · also written SI B61 25 14, B612514

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Check and Repair the NVLD Wiring Harness. The wiring harness for the NVLD2 (Natural Vacuum Leak Detection: tank leak diagnosis) may rest against the right rear strengthening brace and chafe through the harness insulation. This may lead to a short circuit and blow Fuse 104.
