What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
SERVICE ACTION: PROGRAM CONTROL UNITS (GWS). After the engine start-up, gear (Drive or Reverse) cannot be selected. Message ""No drive position change possible"" is displayed in the CC display. Gear can be selected only after vehicle goes through the sleep cycle. Unfavorable GWS gear shifter software"
