SIB 62 04 15: Battery software update

Battery software update on BMW E82/F01/F02/F06 and other models (2009–2016); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10147723 · Jun 2015 · also written SI B62 04 15, B620415

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Programming Control Units. Sporadically the vehicle cannot be started, due to a discharged battery caused by a software glitch in the instrument cluster.
