SIB 63 10 08: Brakes leak

Brakes leak on BMW E82/E88 models (2008–2011); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10036986 · Sep 2011 · also written SI B63 10 08, B631008

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Mounting tension or the cutout area of the trunk for the light is causing the third brake light lens to crack. This is allowing water to leak in.
