Erratic park distance control system behavior on BMW G30/G31 models (2017–2018); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10145318 · Jul 2018 · also written SI B66 08 18, B660818
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
ERRATIC PARK DISTANCE CONTROL SYSTEM BEHAVIOR: False detections occur when the wheels are turned (left or right) to a full end stop steering position.
