NHTSA 10149286: Strut replacement

Strut replacement on BMW E60/E61/E71/E82 and other models (2007–2013); the fix is replacing the affected part.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10149286 · Oct 2014

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

INFORMATION This section only applies to vehicles that require cleaning the intake valve and intake ports. Refer to the applicable Service Information bulletin or ETK if carbon cleaning was not the root cause for the complaint. Reuse the strut brace bolts.
