SIB 11 09 11: Turbo wastegate service information

Turbo wastegate service information on BMW E60/E61 models (2009); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10042488 · Nov 2011 · also written SI B11 09 11, B110911

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The controlling vacuum line for exhaust turbocharger wastegate valve becomes detached from its "t" connection and no longer able to build up charge pressure.
