SIB 12 17 15: Throttle service information

Throttle service information on BMW F15/E70 models (2013–2015); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10152304 · Apr 2015 · also written SI B12 17 15, B121715

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Program Control Units (DME). If the vehicle is driven with long engine idle phases followed by full throttle accelerations, engine (spark) knocking could occur and result in internal engine damage.
