SIB 13 06 10: Check engine light software update

Check engine light software update on BMW E70/E90/E92/E93 models (2007–2011); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10036985 · Jun 2010 · also written SI B13 06 10, B130610

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

A service engine soon light comes on. The engine will only operate to 1500 rpms and lacks power. There is a software application error.
