SIB 16 02 15: Check engine light software update

Check engine light software update on BMW F01/F02/F10/F15 and other models (2013–2016); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10147074 · Feb 2015 · also written SI B16 02 15, B160215

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

SUBJECT Service Action: Program Control Units (SCR). An error in the calculation of the DEF line pressure by the SCR module software could occur at temperatures below 32°F/0°C. This could cause the Service Engine Soon light (MIL) to come on with a pressure plausibility fault stored in the SCR module.
