SIB 17 05 10: Wiring harness fault codes

Wiring harness fault codes on BMW E82/E88/E90/E92 and other models (2007–2011); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10039591 · May 2011 · also written SI B17 05 10, B170510

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The service engine light is on with stored fault codes. There is a wiring/connection problem or a faulty sensor.
