SIB 41 02 08: Body service information

Body service information on BMW E70/E71 models (2008); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10028367 · Sep 2008 · also written SI B41 02 08, B410208

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Remove excessive under body coating, which was inadvertently applied to the area around the left side mounting point for the center support bearing.
