NHTSA 10162425: Squeak noise

Squeak noise on BMW E70 models (2007–2013); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10162425 · Jul 2019

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Creaking Noises from the B-Pillar Trim. The lower half of the B-pillar trim can make a creaking noise when driving. CAUSE: The two upper openings for the securing tabs on the bottom half of the B-pillar are too small to allow the two barbs of the upper trim to interlock.
