SIB 51 01 16: Power window overheating

Power window overheating on BMW F06/F12/F13 models (2012–2016); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10151009 · Jan 2016 · also written SI B51 01 16, B510116

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Heated rear window control module requires a software update. The electrical load of the heated rear window may cause the fuse to overheat and fail.
