Catalytic converter service information on BMW F30/F31/F34 models (2016–2017); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10146640 · Apr 2017 · also written SI B51 16 17, B511617

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

SERVICE ACTION: SECURE SCR METERING MODULE COVER. The screws retaining the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) metering module cover do not correspond to the applicable standard.
