Humming noise on B46/B48 engines (2016–2018); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10138396 · Apr 2018 · also written SI B51 23 17, B512317

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

HUMMING NOISE DURING SMOOTH ACCELERATION: A humming, vibration noise is heard during smooth acceleration to 2000 rpm.
