SIB 61 18 13: Convertible top software update

Convertible top software update on BMW F06/F12/F13/E92 and other models (2012–2014); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10150178 · Nov 2013 · also written SI B61 18 13, B611813

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Program Control Units (CAS). The Car Access System (CAS) software is incorrect, allowing the rear deck lid to be open when the convertible top compartment cover is in the intermediate position. This can cause the convertible top compartment cover to collide with the rear deck lid.
