SIB 61 20 13: Brakes warning message

Brakes warning message on BMW F01/F02/F15 models (2009–2015); the fix is replacing the affected part.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10148274 · Apr 2014 · also written SI B61 20 13, B612013

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Replace EMF Switch. An electrical malfunction in the EMF (Electromechanical Parking Brake) switch can cause an erroneous Check Control Message to be displayed. The parking brake functions properly.
