SIB 61 20 23: Instrument cluster service information

Instrument cluster service information on B46/B48/Electric engines (2022–2023); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10242700 · Aug 2023 · also written SI B61 20 23, B612023

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The customer states there is a Drivetrain Malfunction message displayed in the instrument cluster, and in some cases the vehicle will not go into drive readiness.
