SIB 61 38 12: Control module failure

Control module failure on BMW E60/E82/F01/F02 and other models (2009–2014); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10149608 · May 2013 · also written SI B61 38 12, B613812

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Program Control Units (CAS). This causes the anti-theft alarm system panic button on the remote control to not function.
