BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10150038 · Jul 2013
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
Automatic Trunk Lid Does Not Close Properly. Intermittently, the automatic trunk lid (HKL) will not close properly. When the automatic close button on the trunk lid is pressed, the trunk lid will begin closing and then reopen, just before it reaches the end of travel.
