What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Voluntary emission recall 08E-A02: M5 and M6 (5 & 6 series) with S85 OBD communication. Software error in the DME control module may cause communication incompatibility with certain generic OBD scanner tools.
