SIB 12 23 12: Software

Software on BMW F01/F02 models (2011–2012); BMW released a software update.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10150366 · Dec 2012 · also written SI B12 23 12, B122312

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Service Action: Program Control Units (DME). Due to less than optimal DME characteristic map data, cold engine starting performance could be unsatisfactory, leading to a customer complaint. CAUSE Unfavorable DME software
