SIB 31 02 26: Axle noise
Axle noise on BMW G45 models (2025); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 11027762 · Jan 2026 · also written SI B31 02 26, B310226
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
When driving over a bump (compression and rebound), a “click”-type noise may occur in the area of thefront axle. The noise can be heard on the control arm rubber mount under torsional load, and a relative movement ofthe inner core can also be seen.
