Axle noise on BMW E60/E61/E63/E64 and other models (2009–2012); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.
BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10042470 · Nov 2011 · also written SI B33 03 11, B330311
What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
When driving off or during a load reversal, a clicking noise is heard from the rear axle.
