SIB 41 04 22: Door leak

Door leak on BMW G14/G15/G16/F91 and other models (2022); BMW shared service information.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10224201 · Aug 2022 · also written SI B41 04 22, B410422

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

After driving through standing or puddling water that exceeds these vehicles' ground clearance, water ingress is possible into the rear side door sill areas as shown and noted below. Water ingress: 1. Through the rear support lifting platforms. 2. This water could then pass through the leaking molding.
