SIB 41 05 23: Tailgate corrosion

Tailgate corrosion on BMW F48/U11 models (2022–2023); BMW shared service information.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10250363 · Feb 2024 · also written SI B41 05 23, B410523

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

Contact between the taillamps and the tailgate/side panel(s) can occur. This can cause paint abrasion, and over time corrosion can form on the body of the vehicle/tailgate. Note: This can occur on either one or both sides of the vehicle.
