SIB 51 20 22: Structure cracking

Structure cracking on BMW F22/F23/G42/F44 models (2017–2024); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 11034457 · Jun 2026 · also written SI B51 20 22, B512022

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

While driving on rough roads, a cracking sound is heard coming from the headliner area.
