What it covers
A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.
Tailgate latch is squeaking: This Service Information Bulletin (Revision 3) replaces SI B51 31 17 dated September 2017. The tailgate latch is squeaking when opening or closing the tailgate. The latch has become contaminated with dirt.
