Steering service information on BMW F25/F26 models (2014–2016); BMW explains the cause and the approved repair.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10151013 · Jan 2016 · also written SI B61 01 16, B610116

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The Windshield Wipers Come On Erroneously. The windshield wipers come on by themselves without activating the switch. This can happen at vehicle start or while driving. Communication error between the SZL (Steering Column Switch Center) and the JBBF (Junction Box Co Driver).
