SIB 61 02 25: Battery failure

Battery failure on B58/N63 engines (2024–2025); BMW repairs affected cars free under a service campaign.

BMW service campaign · NHTSA ID 11017283 · Apr 2025 · also written SI B61 02 25, B610225

What it covers

A service campaign is a fix BMW performs free on affected cars. Ask a BMW center whether it is open on your VIN.

Due to unfavorable tolerances, the Power Control Unit (PCU) may switch off under heavy loads and nolonger charge the Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) Auxiliary (AUX) battery. This leads to the failure of the roll stabilization, and loss of communication to the EARS modules (S 0421 & S 0422).
