SIB 61 17 21: Door warning message

Door warning message on BMW F39/F48 models (2016–2022); BMW gives an inspection and repair procedure.

BMW service bulletin · NHTSA ID 10212796 · Apr 2022 · also written SI B61 17 21, B611721

What it covers

A service bulletin tells BMW technicians how to diagnose or fix a known issue. It is not a recall: a repair under a bulletin is normally paid by the owner unless the car is still under warranty or a warranty extension applies.

The Check Control message "Door open" appears in the instrument cluster (Kombi) even though all vehicle doors are closed and locked. The locking operation of the doors is not affected.
